Cloth Nappy
1. Advantages:
(1) Good breathability.
(2) Economy: it can be made from old bed sheets, cotton sweaters and trousers, and can be reused after washing, which is much more economical than using paper diapers.
2. Disadvantages:
(1) Frequent change: parents must change the cloth nappy for the baby as soon as he urinates or poops. Only by doing frequent change can he keep the skin clean and dry. Otherwise, the little baby bum will be in a humid environment for a long time, easy to cause diaper rash. In addition, the baby grow fastest in their infancy. About 70% of the growth hormone is secreted when the infant sleeps. However, changing diapers frequently will affect the baby's sleep, thus affecting the growth and development of the baby. Similarly, it will also affect parents' sleep.
(2) Regular washing: the washing of cloth nappies is troublesome. After being washed, it must be boiled for 5-10 minutes and exposed to the sun, so as to kill bacteria completely. It is relatively easy to do this in summer while it is very difficult to do it in winter.
(3) Side leakage and back leakage are easy to occur. Cloth diapers are only used to cover the front and back of the baby's bottom with an elastic band to fix the two sides, so it is easy to cause side leakage and soil the baby's clothes.
Diaper
1. Advantages:
(1) Easy to use: throw the disposable
diaper away after using it, which can save manpower and material resources.
(2) Keep the baby's bottom dry and fundamentally reduce the probability of diaper rash. The reason why
diapers can absorb water is that the third generation core has "beads" inside with strong water absorption. After these "beads" absorb water, they trap the water in their "body" to prevent the water from flowing out, thus keeping the baby's bottom dry.
(3) Breathability: at present, polyethylene (PE) films were adopted to the general
diapers. Composite films are used for high-quality
diapers. As the minimum diameter of water droplets is about 20 microns while the molecular diameter of water vapor is only about 0.0004 microns. The diameter of micropores is between the two, thus making the microporous films waterproof and breathable.
(4) Comfort: the high-quality
diaper provides a perfect fit and has a three-dimensional elastic waistline, letting the baby comfortable to move.
(5) A good night's sleep:
diapers have strong water absorption and can trap water at the same time, which can make babies and parents have a good sleep.
2. Disadvantage:
Factors of allergy: the skin-friendly diapers are made of non-woven fabric. Some babies with sensitive skin may have allergies. However, some diapers will be added with natural plant skin care factors, such as lavender and tea tree oil, which can prevent allergy to the greatest extent.
From this, we can see that diapers and cloth nappies actually have their own pros and cons. Mothers can take advantage of their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, and can choose one of them according to different situations. For example, you can use cloth nappies for your baby during the day and use diapers for your baby at night. And when you go out, you also use diapers for your baby.
