How to change the baby diaper properly?
1.Remove the dirty diaper
Wash hands before changing diaper. Put baby on the bed and tear the waist tape on both sides, then lift baby’s legs up gently, keep index finger on the middle of baby’s feet to avoid abrasion on ankle and take out the diaper and throw it away.
2. Put on a clean diaper
Firstly, clean baby’s ass with water or wet tissues. Then open the new diaper and lift baby’s legs and put the diaper under legs. Put down legs, stretch the diaper and fold the other side and finally paste it.
3. Final check
Put on the diaper is not the end of the story, the leakage still may occur and baby will feel uncomfortable, therefore, it’s important to give a final check. After pasting, pay attention to the appropriate tightness on the waist and legs, generally the tightness should be one finger’s wide.
Matters need to be attention when changing the diaper
1. The size of diaper should fit baby
The size can be classified into new born (NB), small (S), medium (M), large (L) and extra large (XL). Parents need to notice whether the size is suitable for baby, especially the legs and waist should not be too tight, or the diaper may hurt baby’s skin. One more to be noticed is that the different brands have little difference on the size. Before bulk purchasing, parents should take note of the instruction on packages and can let baby to have a try. It’s inadvisable to purchase in a large quantity one time for the size should be changed with the growth of baby.
2. Change the diaper timely
The newly-type diaper added a harmless chemical substance whose color will fade in urine. Parents can detect and replace the diaper easily. Of course, it’s unnecessary to change diaper everytime after urinate, generally can change it after two to three times of urinating.
3.Pay attention to the cleanliness before changing
Clean baby’s hip before change the diaper. If the baby is urinated, clean hip with wet tissue and applied cream. If the baby is defecated, wash the hip with warm water. After washing, wipe the hip softly, if baby has the diaper rash, applied ointment or Vaseline to protect the skin.
4. Prevent the omphalitis
Change diaper for newborn baby with unfallen umbilical cord should turn out the belly, leaving 3mm distance with umbilical cord. This way can avoid the friction, bleeding and inflammation between umbilical cord and diaper and also can prevent the omphalitis.
